RESEARCH GRANTS:

Chief Investigator, along with M. Veysey (1st Chief Investigator), P.Lewis, M. Lucock, and P. Roach, awarded the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage - Projects Grant (2008 - 2011) LP0883378 for A$390,172 with matching funds of A$250,000 from industry partners, and additional in-kind contributions of A$834,802 (total estimated value = A$1,336,325) for “Is retirement living good for health: Comparing the health of older adults living in retirement villages and the community”.

As 1st Chief Investigator, led the team that was awarded the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage - Projects Grant (2005 - 2007) LP0560311 for A$412,000, with original matching funds of A$300,000 (increased by 60% to $480,000 post-award) from industry partners, and additional in-kind contributions of A$636,231 (total estimated value = A$1,528,231) for “Economic, environmental and social psychological evaluation of independent senior living alternatives in Australia,” with P. Bohle, W. G. Earl, J. Piggott, and P. Wilde.

As 1st Chief Investigator, led the team that was awarded the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage - Projects Grant (2002 - 2003) LP0219276 for A$110,000, plus matching funds of A$110,000 from the industry partner, for “A consumer adoption study: Exercise training for the healthy elderly in an Australian retirement community setting,” with P. Bohle, M. Fiatarone Singh, W. Evans, and L. Alway. Including in-kind contributions from the industry partner and 3 universities, the total estimated value of this project was in excess of A$800,000.
